Carrot and Kidney Bean Burgers

Carrot Kidney Bean Burger Recipe Image


2 Cans Red Kidney Beans
1 Red Onion
2 Medium Carrots Grated
1 Clove Raw Garlic Crushed
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tbsp Mixed Herbs
1 tsp Salt
4 tbsp Plain Flour (can be Gluten Free)
4 tbsp Olive Oil


Bring a pan of water to the boil

Drain kidney beans and add them to the boiling water.

Boil for 10 minutes and drain once done.

In the meantime chop up the onion and fry on low heat until golden brown

Add the garlic and grated carrots to the frying pan and continue cooking for 5-8 minutes. Add the mixed herbs, salt and cayenne pepper and stir.

Slightly mash the kidney beans and add the carrot mixture to the kidney beans and 2 tablespoons of flour and mix well.

Now it’s time to shape the burgers. It usually makes about 8 burgers and they are about 5/6cm wide.

Fry the burgers in a bit of oil on either side. About 5 minutes or until they are golden brown!

Serve on a bun with Avocado and Tomato salsa or just on it’s own as a part of a main course.
